An Ordinance Amending Chapter 35 (Dissolution of Beautification Commission; Creation of Keep Romeoville Beautiful Commission)

WHEREAS, a periodic review of the ordinances of the Village of Romeoville has indicated that certain revisions to the composition of and service upon appointed boards and commissions may facilitate the efficient operation of such boards and commissions for their intended purposes, and provide increased opportunities for community members to become involved in public service within the Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville is a home rule municipality under the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Village to enact the amendments to Chapter 35 as more fully hereinafter set forth and in the exercise of the Village's home rule authority, all so as to dissolve the heretofore existing Romeoville Beautification Commission, and to create the Keep Romeoville Beautiful Commission.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS; THAT:
SECTION 1: RECITALS. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2: AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 35 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES. All those portions of all heretofore adopted and presently existing Village Ordinances codified at Chapter 35.65 through and including Chapter 35.69 of the Village Code are hereby repealed and the same shall hereby be deleted from the Village Code of Ordinances, and shall be replaced by the text hereinafter set forth, creating and establishing the Keep Romeoville Beautiful Commission, and which shall be codified in Chapter 35 of the Village Code of Ordinances as hereinafter indicated:
