A Resolution Waiving the Bid Process for the Purchase of a Live Fire Training Tower from American Fire Training Systems, Inc.

Whereas, the Village of Romeoville ("The Village") is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and,
Whereas, included in the fiscal year 2022-2023 budget are funds to purchase a burn tower for the Fire Academy training site at Fire Station 2. $607,000 has been allocated for the project which includes the new tower, site fencing and site improvements;
Whereas, the Village of Romeoville ("The Village") Fire Department/Fire Academy, has heretofore reviewed the 3 quotes obtained and the Romeoville Fire Department and Romeoville Fire Academy have chosen the fire training tower quote from American Fire Training Systems Inc., of Lemont IL in the amount of $479,125.00;
Whereas, based on a long standing relationship with the Village and Fire Academy, a positive experience with their products as evidenced by their quality of construction in the 3 story burn facility, single story residential burn building and car for fire prop currently operated by the academy and constructed by AFTS, the fire department and fire academy recommends awarding the project to the lowest quoted price of $479,125.00 to American Fire Training Systems, Inc. of Lemont, IL and waiving the bidding process.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The Village of Romeoville approves the Fire Department/Fire Academy to accept the quote obtained from American Fire Training Systems Inc., of Lemont IL to purchase a burn tower, site fencing and site improvements at Fire Station 2;
Section 2: That the quote hereto aforementioned submitted by American Fire Training Systems, Inc in the amount of $479,125.00, is attached;
