A Resolution to Accept a Quote from Specialty Floors, Inc. for Full Sanding and Refinishing of the Wood Floors within the Recreation Center

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville requests that the Recreation Center wood floors are sanded and refinished due to facility upkeep needs; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville requested quotes from two (2) vendors and received two (2) quotes: and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville (“Village”) has heretofore received the two quotes for full sanding and refinishing of the wood floors within the Recreation Center from Specialty Floors, Inc. for $44,995.00 (Exhibit A), and Veterans Floors Inc. for $45,765.00 (Exhibit B);
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has reviewed the quotes and would like to accept the lowest quote from Specialty Floors, Inc., who is able to complete the job to our standard needs; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the applicable provisions of the Illinois Municipal Code and the Village of Romeoville Code of Ordinances, the Corporate Authorities, by a two-thirds vote, may, at their discretion, waive the otherwise applicable public bidding procedures applicable to the procurement of goods and services by the Village.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, that:
Section 1: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Chapter 36.43(C) of the Village Code of Ordinances, the Corporate Authorities of the Village hereby waive the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the provision of refinishing floors at the Recreation Center, and authorize the Village of Romeoville to accept the quote from Specialty Floors, Inc. for sanding and refinishing of the wood floors in the Recreation Center for $44,995.00.
Section 2: This Resolution is approved and the Mayor and Clerk are authorized to execute any necessary documents in connection therewith.
