A Resolution to Waive the Bidding Requirements and Accept the Three-Year Proposal from TruGreen for Fertilizer and Weed Control Services

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for the fertilization, preemergence, and weed control of turf areas in the Village owned facilities, parks, and right-of-ways are in the Fiscal Year 2022/2023 Budget upon Village Board approval of the budget; and,
Whereas, the proposal was received from TruGreen for a term of three years 2022, 2023, 2024, for treatment of the 350 acres that they currently do for us, and the pricing includes general costs for fertilization and weed control services in the $89- $95 per acre range depending on the application process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the three-year proposal from TruGreen for fertilizer and weed control services.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same sh...
