                     A Resolution Declaring Surplus Property and Authorizing the Disposition of

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 11-76-4) the corporate authorities of the Village of Romeoville (the “Village”) are authorized to sell, donate, or otherwise dispose of surplus personal property when, in the opinion of a majority of the corporate authorities, the continued ownership of such personal property by the Village is no longer necessary or useful to or in the best interests of the Village; and

 

WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village have determined that the continued ownership by the Village of Romeoville of twenty Toilet Paper Dispensers, one IPC Eagle CT 70 Walk Behind Scrubber, one Haier Fridge Model (Exhibit A), one 2003 Ambulance, one 14’ ATV Trailer, nineteen IX-84 Vehicle GPS Units, thirty-eight IX-101 Vehicle GPS Units, and eleven IX-403 GPS Units hereto is no longer necessary or useful to, nor in the best interest of the Village of Romeoville, and authorize and direct the disposition thereof in accordance with the terms hereinafter set forth; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the President and Board of Trustees for the Village of Romeoville, Will County, Illinois, the following:

 

SECTION 1:                     RECITALS.  The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.

 

SECTION 2:                     DECLARATION AS SURPLUS; AUTHORIZATION OF DISPOSITION.  The twenty Toilet Paper Dispensers, one IPC Eagle CT 70 Walk Behind Scrubber, and one Haier Fridge Model at the Village Parks and Recreation Department (Exhibit A), one 2003 Ambulance and one 14’ ATV Trailer at the Village Fire Department, and nineteen IX-84 Vehicle GPS Units, thirty-eight IX-101 Vehicle GPS Units, and eleven IX-403 GPS Units at the Village Public Works Department are hereby declared to be surplus, and the continued ownership thereof is determined to no longer be necessary or useful to or otherwise in the best interests of the Village, and the Parks and Recreation, Fire, and Public Works Department is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of such property in any manner in which it deems appropriate, including but not limited to the disposal of the same as refuse.

                     

SECTION 3:                      SEVERABILITY.  That the various provisions of this Ordinance are to be considered severable and if any part or portion of this Ordinance shall be held invalid by any Court of contempt jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Ordinance.

 

SECTION 4:                     CONFLICTS.  All prior Ordinances and Resolutions, or parts thereof in conflict or inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby expressly repealed only to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency.

 

SECTION 5:                     EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
