An Ordinance Adopting Amendments to Chapter 43.02A (Fire Department Fee Schedule) of the Village Code of Ordinances

                     WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the Corporate Authorities to periodically review and assess the fees and charges associated with the provision of Village services by the various departments of the Village; and

 

                     WHEREAS, as a result of such periodic review and analysis, the Village has determined that certain of the fees for services rendered by the Village Fire Department are in need of revision to better reflect and recover the costs associated with the provision thereof.

 

                     NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS; THAT:

 

                     SECTION 1:  RECITALS.  The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.

                     SECTION 2:  ADOPTION OF AMENDED SECTIONS 43.02A(A) AND 43.02A(B) OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES.  All those heretofore adopted ordinances of the Village of Romeoville codified as and for Sections 43.02A(A) and 43.02A(B) of the Village Code of Ordinances shall hereby be amended to read as set forth therefor in Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.

                     SECTION 3:  ADOPTION OF AMENDED SECTION 43.02A(C) OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES.  All those heretofore adopted ordinances of the Village of Romeoville codified as and for Section 43.02A(C) shall hereby be amended to read as hereinafter set forth:

(C)   Motor vehicle incident response cost recovery fees.  The following charges shall be imposed upon parties requesting, served by or otherwise responsible for calls for the following listed Fire Department response services involving a motor vehicle incident:

      (1)   Level 1 - Hazardous materials assessment and scene stabilization. $478.50 per incident.

      (2)   Level 2 - Includes Level 1 services as well as any required clean up and material used (sorbents) for hazardous fluid clean up and disposal.  $544.50 per incident.

      (3)   Level 3 - Vehicle fires.  Provide scene safety, fire suppression, breathing air, rescue tools, hand tools, hose, tip use, foam, structure protection, and clean up gasoline or other automotive fluids that are spilled as a result of the accident/incident. $665.50 per incident.

      (4)   Level 4 - Includes Level 1 and 2 services as well as extrication from vehicles requiring the use of any equipment (heavy rescue tools, ropes, airbags, cribbing etc.). $1,980.00 per incident.

      (5)   Level 5 - Includes Levels 1, 2, and 4 services involving multiple engine company responses or mutual aid agreement responses, or incidents requiring airborne patient transportation. $2,420.00 per incident.

                     SECTION 4:  ADOPTION OF AMENDED SECTION 43.02A(D) OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES.  All those heretofore adopted ordinances of the Village of Romeoville codified as and for Section 43.02A(D) shall hereby be amended to read as hereinafter set forth:

(D)   Ambulance transport fees for residents and non-residents.  The following charges shall be imposed upon resident and non-resident parties requesting, served by or otherwise responsible for calls for the following listed ambulance transport services, and are imposed on a one-way basis for transportation from the location where the call for ambulance service is requested to a hospital:

      (1)   Residents

         (a)   ALS1 base trip rate   $1,600

         (b)   ALS2 base trip rate   $1,600

         (c)   BLS base trip rate   $1,600

         (d)   Mileage   $15 per transport mile

      (2)   Non-residents

         (a)   ALS1 base trip rate   $1,600

         (b)   ALS2 base trip rate   $1,600

         (c)   BLS base trip rate   $1,600

         (d)   Mileage   $15 per transport mile                     

                     

SECTION 3:  SEVERABILITY.  That the various provisions of this Ordinance are to be considered severable and if any part or portion of this Ordinance shall be held invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Ordinance.

 

                     SECTION 4:  CONFLICTS.  All prior Ordinances and Resolutions, or parts thereof in conflict or inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby expressly repealed only to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency. 

 

                     SECTION 5: EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
