A Resolution to Accept a Contract with George's Landscape Inc. (GLI) to Construct Playground Renovations at Conservation Park, and to Waive the Bidding Process to Award Contracts with BCI Burke Company for Playground Equipment, Zenon Company for Park Equipment, and George's Landscape Inc. for ADA Compliance Work

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville ("Village") has heretofore received three bids to construct playground renovations at Conservation Park from George's Landscaping, Inc. in the amount of $407,812.00; from Clauss Brothers, Inc. in the amount of $529,060.31; and from The Kenneth Company for $426.840.00 (see Exhibit A), for said construction; and
WHEREAS, the Village would like to accept the bid from George's Landscaping, Inc., for renovations at Conservation Park for $407,812.00, which was the lowest of the three bids received and itemized in Exhibit B; and
WHEREAS, the Village would further like to purchase necessary playground equipment, park items, interpretive signage, civil engineering, topographical services, construction services, lighting, landscaping drainage, and ADA paving for an additional $189,080.09 as follows, to waive the otherwise applicable public bidding procedures to award contracts to BCI Burke Company LLC, Zenon and GLI for their respective equipment and work as indicated below, and to otherwise approve the expenditure of funds for the signage, testing services and engineering services required for the completion of the project, all as indicated below:

BCI Burke Company, LLC: $97,964.09 (Exhibit C playground equipment)
Zenon: $21,900.00 (trash receptacles, benches, bike racks)
GLI--ADA Added Project: $ 50,520.00 (lighting, landscape, ADA paving, drainage)
Additional Expenditures to be Authorized:
Fossil Industries: $ 3,000.00 (interpretive signage)
Testing Service Corp.: $ 1,696.00 (construction testing services)
