A Resolution to Approve Additional Repairs at the Fairfax Avenue Deep Well
Body
Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for well maintenance, rehabilitation and repairs at the Fairfax Avenue wellsite are available in the 2019/20 Water & Sewer Capital Improvement Bond; and,
Whereas, Water Well Solutions, Inc. performed emergency repairs to the well under Resolution #19-2699, and a protrusion from the original casing pipe prevented lowering of the restored column pipe back into the well, and a 40-foot stainless steel swage patch was required to be installed in the lower part of the well at a cost of $57,437.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the emergency well repairs.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phr...
