A Resolution Waiving the Public Bidding Process and
Authorizing the Purchase of One (1) Traffic Speed-Reader Machine from Kustom Signals


Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to a two-thirds vote of the Village Board of Trustees, the Board may waive the requirements of the Village Code of Ordinances and the Illinois Municipal Code to competitively bid certain contracts for the procurement of goods and services or performance of certain work; and

WHEREAS, Village of Romeoville desires to purchase one (1) traffic speed-reader machine; and

WHEREAS, the Kustom Signals traffic speed-reader machine has all the options needed and is the same model as the department is currently utilizing; and

WHEREAS, Kustom Signals is the vendor of choice for the purchase of the traffic speed-reader machine; and

WHEREAS, the Police Department will be using $25,000.00 from 2019/2020 approved budget funds to purchase one (1) traffic speed-reader machine.


NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

SECTION ONE. The forgoing Recitals are hereby incorporated into this resolution as if fully set forth in this Section 1.

SECTION TWO. The competitive bidding process of the Village of Romeoville Code of Ordinances and the Illinois Municipal Code is hereby waived, and staff of the Village are hereby authorized and directed to purchase from Kustom Signals one (1) traffic speed-reader machine in the amount not to exceed $25,000.00

SECTION THREE. That the various provisions of this Resolution are to be considered severable and if any part or portion of this Resolution shall be held invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Resolution.
