Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to a two-thirds vote of the Village Board of Trustees, the Board may waive the requirements of the Village Code of Ordinances and the Illinois Municipal Code to competitively bid certain contracts for the procurement of goods and services or performance of certain work; and

WHEREAS, Village of Romeoville desires to purchase seventy (70) active shooter rifle plate ballistic vest packages; and

WHEREAS, Ray O'Herron is the local distributor of the active shooter rifle plate ballistic vests for United Shield manufacturing; and

WHEREAS, the Police Department will be using $50,000.00 from state drug forfeiture funds for the purchase of the active shooter rifle plate ballistic vest packages.


NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

SECTION ONE. The forgoing Recitals are hereby incorporated into this resolution as if fully set forth in this Section 1.

SECTION TWO. The competitive bidding process of the Village of Romeoville Code of Ordinances and the Illinois Municipal Code is hereby waived, and staff of the Village are hereby authorized and directed to purchase from Ray O'Herron seventy (70) active shooter rifle plate ballistic vest packages in the amount not to exceed $50,000.00

SECTION THREE. That the various provisions of this Resolution are to be considered severable and if any part or portion of this Resolution shall be held invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Resolution.

SECTION FOUR. All prior Resolutions and Resolutions, or parts thereof in conflict or inconsistent with this Resolution are hereby expressly repealed only to the extent of such...
