RESOLUTION
A Resolution Waiving the Formal Bidding Process and Executing a Contract with Steven Spiess Construction, Inc. to install a 20” x16” tee in the meter vault of the O’Hara Woods Lift Station in the amount not to exceed $20,000.

Whereas, The Village of Romeoville (“The Village”) is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and,
Whereas, Village Staff requested a proposal from Steven Spiess Construction, Inc. (Spiess) to install a 20” x16” tee in the meter vault of the O’Hara Woods Lift Station; and,
Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures to install a 20” x16” tee in the meter vault of the O’Hara Woods Lift Station can be drawn from the 2019 Water and Sewer Capital Improvement Bond; and,
Whereas, Village Staff has reviewed the proposed scope/budget and recommends the Village Board execute the proposal and contract with Spiess in the amount not to exceed $20,000
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to install a 20” x16” tee in the meter vault of the O’Hara Woods Lift Station.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.
Section 5: Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
