Resolution: Approval of an Addition to the Current Water Main Rehabilitation Program Contract to Facilitate Project Completion and Close-Out

Whereas, the Village of Romeoville ("The Village") is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and,
Whereas, a contract was awarded to Len Cox & Sons Excavating in April, 2017, for the construction of new HDPE water main along Montrose Drive and Nelson Avenue in the amount of $759,750.00, with $900,000.00 budgeted for and approved through resolution for that work, and $500,573 was subsequently added for additional pipe to be constructed on the adjacent street Lynn Avenue at the original contract prices, with the $140,000 of remaining funds from FY16/17 plus $240,000 of $900,000 budgeted for FY 17/18 approved through resolution for that work, and subsequently $660,000 was approved through resolution for additional pipe to be constructed along Fenton Avenue and Everette Avenue; and,
Whereas, the total amount of work performed at the contract unit prices for the project, including the original scope of work plus additions, is $1,989,000, and an amount not to exceed $100,000 is necessary to finalize and close out the project and contract; and,
Whereas, none of the $800,000 budgeted for FY 18/19 for water main replacement was expended, and funds are available in the 2019 Water and Sewer Bond for water main replacement work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Addition to Contract: The Village of Romeoville will add $100,000 to the contract for the current Water Main Rehabilitation Project, which is being performed by Len Cox & Sons Excavating, to facilitate close-out of the contract.
