A Resolution to Waive the Bid Process and Approve the Construction of Pressure Relief Valve Station Improvements

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,

Whereas, the expenditures for the construction of upgrades for the Crossroads Parkway and Schmidt Road pressure relief valve stations are available in the 2019/20 Water & Sewer Capital Improvement Bond; and,

Whereas, Metropolitan Industries will construct the improvements for the Crossroads Parkway pressure relief valve station for the amount of $113,474.00, and will construct the improvements for the Schmidt Road pressure relief valve station for the amount of $43,389.00, for a total amount of $156,863.00 for both stations.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.

Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the construction of improvements for pressure relief valve stations.

Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.

Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or vo...
