A Resolution to Waive the Bid Process and Enter into a Contract with P.T. Ferro Construction Company for Bridge Maintenance Work

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for bridge maintenance and repairs are available in the Fiscal Year 2019/2020 Budget; and,
Whereas, a proposal was received from P.T. Ferro Construction Company for the performance of the bridge superstructure repair work at unit prices for each of the various items of work that total to the amount of $77,173.00, and the ultimate contract value will reflect the actual quantities of work performed in the field, at or under the budgeted amount of $150,000. A subsequent contract for substructure work will be developed and performed for bridge substructure work for an amount at or under the budgeted amount for this work, $100,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the contracts for bridge repair work.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
