A Resolution authorizing the waiving of bids for the purchase of Genesis E-Force battery operated extrication tools from EMC (Equipment Management Company) of Channahon, Illinois

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provision of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village of Romeoville may by a vote of 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office, waive the requirements for public bidding on Village fire department equipment; and

WHEREAS, in connection with the fire department purchase of battery operated extrication equipment manufactured by Genesis Rescue Systems and sold by the local vendor EMC - Equipment Management Company of Channahon, Illinois; and

WHEREAS, upon review by Village staff it was concluded that EMC is the sole provider of Genesis Rescue Systems in the Chicagoland area. Therefore, it is the fire department's recommendation that the Village enter into an agreement to purchase this equipment in the amount of $30,875.00

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS that:

Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby expressly
incorporated into and made part of this Resolution as if fully set forth
herein.

Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS
5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village
hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the
contract for the purchase of new equipment for the fire department.


Section 3: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph,
provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held
to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the
validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences,
