A Resolution Approving the Purchase of a Ballfield Groomer
for $18,671.00 from Burris Equipment Company

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Chapter 36.43 (C) of the Village Code of Ordinances, the Village of Romeoville may by a vote of 2/3 of the Trustees then holding office, waive the otherwise applicable requirements for public bidding, whether for labor, services or work, the construction of public works or improvements, or the purchase, lease or sale of personal property, materials, equipment or supplies; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville strives to maintain its athletic fields for residents to enjoy; and
WHEREAS, the ballfield groomers on hand are now 12 and 18 years old and have outlasted their anticipated lifespan; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville Parks and Recreation Department wishes to accept a quotation from Burris Equipment Company for a new ballfield groomer (Exhibit B) for a price not to exceed $18,671.00 (Exhibit A); and
WHEREAS, The Village of Romeoville has purchased items from Burris Equipment Company in the past and has been satisfied with their service and products.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, that:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby expressly incorporated into and made part of this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirement: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Chapter 36.43 (C) of the Village Code of Ordinances the Corporate Authorities of the Village hereby waive the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to and authorize the purchase of a ballfield groomer (as illustrated in Exhibit B) for a price not to exceed $18,671.00, per the terms set forth in the quotation attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A.
