A Resolution Authorizing an Intergovernmental Agreement with Valley View School District-Early Childhood Center Before and After School Program

WHEREAS, Counties, Municipalities, and other units of local government are authorized to enter into Intergovernmental Agreements to combine, share, or jointly exercise their respective powers and authorities in any manner not otherwise prohibited by law and pursuant to Article 7, Section 10 of the Illinois Constitution of 1970 and the Intergovernmental Cooperation Act, 5 ILCS 220/1 et. seq.; and,

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville and Valley View Community Unit School District 365U have proposed the adoption of an intergovernmental agreement in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit A to set forth terms and conditions between the parties concerning the provision by the Village of recreational and activity programs before and after school at the Early Childhood Center.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

SECTION ONE. The forgoing Recitals are hereby incorporated into this resolution as if fully set forth in this Section 1.

SECTION TWO. The Village President and Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and attest to the execution of an agreement in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, subject to final staff review and approval to conform the same to the version thereof as adopted by Valley View Community Unit School District 365U.

SECTION THREE. That the various provisions of this Resolution are to be considered severable and if any part or portion of this Resolution shall be held invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Resolution.

SECTION FOUR. All prior Resolutions and Resolutions, or parts thereof in conflict or inconsistent with this Resolution are hereby expressly repealed only to the e...
