A Resolution Ratifying the Purchase and Procurement of Additional Amenities for Discovery Park Development

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has heretofore approved a contract with J. Russ & Company, Inc. to provide construction services for the completion of the Phase I and Phase II Improvements to Discovery Park pursuant to Resolution 17-2297, and has likewise heretofore approved a change order to the aforesaid contract to permit the construction of certain additional amenities to Discovery Park, including bleachers, benches, tables, trash receptacles, bike racks, interpretive, parking and traffic signage, soccer goals and volleyball court boundary markers pursuant to Resolution 17-2351; and

 

WHEREAS, in connection with the construction activities referenced by the above-referenced legislation, the Village also required the procurement of the indicated park amenities for Discovery Park from the following indicated vendors:  Soccer goals and bleachers from BSN Sports, benches, tables and trash receptacles from Zenon Company, bike racks from GameTime, interpretive signage from System Huntingdon/SH Immersive Environments, parking and traffic signage from RoadSafe, and volleyball court boundary markers from NuToys Leisure Products; and

 

WHEREAS, due to the immediate requirements of the aforesaid construction projects, and the necessity for timely completing the same in accordance with the requirements of the grant funding financing a portion of the aforesaid construction projects, the Village has heretofore obtained the additional indicated amenities for Discovery Park and made payment therefor; and

 

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Village to authorize the procurement of the additional indicated amenities for Discovery Park and to ratify the acceptance of the said amenities and the Village’s prior payment for the indicated amenities.

 

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, that:

 

Section 1:                     Incorporation of Recitals:  The foregoing recitals are hereby expressly incorporated into and made part of this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.

 

Section 2:                     Authorization of Procurement: The proper personnel of the Village are hereby authorized and directed to procure the following indicated park amenities from the following indicated vendors at amounts not to exceed the amounts hereinafter respectively set forth:

 

A. Soccer goals and bleachers from BSN Sports, amount not to exceed $20,505.90;

 

B.  Benches, tables and trash receptacles from Zenon Company, amount not to exceed $16,252.00;

 

C.  Bike racks from GameTime, amount not to exceed $1,665.55

 

D.  Interpretive signage from System Huntingdon/SH Immersive Environments, amount not to exceed $782.00;

 

E.  Parking and traffic signage from RoadSafe, amount not to exceed $494.18;

 

F.  Volleyball court boundary markers from NuToys Leisure Products, amount not to exceed $2,025.00.

 

Section 3:                      Ratification of Acceptance of Delivery and Issuance of Payment:  The Village hereby ratifies all actions heretofore taken by all Village personnel in connection with the procurement of and payment for the Discovery Park amenities as hereinabove set forth.

 

Section 4:                     Repealer:  All other Resolutions or parts thereof in conflict or inconsistent with this Resolution are hereby expressly repealed only to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency. 

 

Section 5:                     Severability:  In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, or void, the same shall not affect the validity of enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, provisions or sections thereof.

 

Section 6:                     Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
