A Resolution Authorizing the Procurement of Professional Design and Engineering Services from Hitchcock Design Group and Robinson Engineering Ltd.

WHEREAS, the Village has heretofore approved a contract with J. Russ & Company, Inc. to provide construction services for the completion of the Phase I and Phase II Improvements to Discovery Park pursuant to Resolution 17-2297, and has likewise heretofore approved a change order to the aforesaid contract to permit the construction of certain additional amenities to Discovery Park pursuant to Resolution 17-2351; and

 

WHEREAS, while the provisions of Resolution 17-2351 authorized the expenditure of funds not to the amount of not to exceed $115,100.00 for professional design services and not to exceed $65,951.00 for engineering services, the provisions of the resolution inadvertently omitted reference to the specific vendors of such professional services, namely, Hitchcock Design Group with respect to the professional design services, and Robinson Engineering Ltd. with respect to engineering services; and

 

WHEREAS, the Village has long standing and satisfactory relationships  with each of such firms for the provision of services within their respective disciplines and as such, the Village’s procurement of professional services from each of such firms is not subject to the provisions of the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act, 50 ILCS 510/0.01 et. seq.; and

 

WHEREAS, the indicated professional services have been provided to the Village and paid for by the Village, as required in order to complete the additional amenities to Discovery Park contemplated by the change order approved by Resolution 17-2351, and paid for by the Village; and

 

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Village to authorize the procurement of the professional services as hereinabove described, and to ratify all actions taken by Village staff in connection with the procurement of and payment for the same in connection with the completion of the additional amenities at Discovery Park.

 

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, that:

 

Section 1:                     Incorporation of Recitals:  The foregoing recitals are hereby expressly incorporated into and made part of this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.

 

Section 2:                     Authorization:  The Village hereby authorizes the procurement of professional design services from Hitchcock Design group in an amount not to exceed $115,100.00 and engineering services from Robinson Engineering Ltd. in an amount not to exceed $65,951.00, all in connection with the completion of the additional amenities to Discovery Park contemplated by the change order approved by Resolution 17-2351.

 

Section 3:                     Ratification of Purchase and Payment:  The Village hereby ratifies all actions heretofore taken by all Village personnel in connection with the procurement of and payment for the professional design services from Hitchcock Design Services and the engineering services from Robinson Engineering Ltd. as hereinabove set forth.

 

Section 4:                     Severability:  That the various provisions of this Resolution are to be considered severable and if any part or portion of this Resolution shall be held invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Resolution.

 

Section 5:                     Repealer:  All other Resolutions or parts thereof in conflict or inconsistent with this Resolution are hereby expressly repealed only to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency.

 

Section 6:                     Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
