A Resolution Authorizing Waiving of Bids to Construct a Sitting Area at
Deer Crossing Park by George's Landscaping, Incorporated

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/9-9-1 and the provisions of Chapter 36.43 (C) of the Village Code of Ordinances, the Village of Romeoville may by a vote of 2/3 of the Trustees then holding office, waive the otherwise applicable requirements for public bidding, whether for labor, services or work, the construction of public works or improvements, or the purchase, lease or sale of personal property, materials, equipment or supplies; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville would like to provide a sitting area adjacent to the new concession area at Deer Crossing Park for patrons to enjoy; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has contracted with George's Landscaping, Incorporated, for $35,509.00, per the terms set forth in the proposal attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A: and
WHEREAS, The Village of Romeoville has received services from George's Landscaping, Incorporated in the past and has been satisfied with the quality of their work and service.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, that:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby expressly incorporated into and made part of this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirement: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Chapter 36.43 (C) of the Village Code of Ordinances the Corporate Authorities of the Village hereby waive the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to and authorize the construction of a sitting area at Deer Crossing Park for a total cost of $35,509.00, per the terms set forth in the proposal attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A.
