A Resolution Waiving the Public Bidding Process and
Authorizing a Contract for the Purchase of One (1) New Chevrolet Tahoe Police K9 Squad, Fully Equipped

 

Body

[WHEREAS, pursuant to a two-thirds vote of the Village Board of Trustees, the Board may waive the requirements of the Village Code of Ordinances and the Illinois Municipal Code to competitively bid certain contracts for the procurement of goods and services or performance of certain work; and

 

WHEREAS, Village of Romeoville desires to enter into that certain agreement for the purchase of one new police K9 squad, fully equipped.; and

 

WHEREAS, the Police Department will be using $63,000.00 from approved 17-18 budget funds for the purchase and equipping of the new K9 police squad; and

 

WHEREAS, Police Department Systems, Ragan Communications, Kustom Signals, BMS/Data 911, Ray O’Herron, Magid, and Car Reflections are the local distributors/vendors for the vehicle equipment/installations; and,

 

WHEREAS, Miles Chevrolet holds the current state contract PSD# 4018343 pricing for the purchase of 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe police vehicle.

 

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

 

                     SECTION ONE.  The forgoing Recitals are hereby incorporated into this resolution as if fully set forth in this Section 1.

 

                     SECTION TWO.   The competitive bidding process of the Village of Romeoville Code of Ordinances and the Illinois Municipal Code is hereby waived, and staff of the Village are hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement with Miles Chevrolet, Police Department Systems, Ragan Communications, Kustom Signals, BMS/Data 911, Ray O’Herron, Magid, and Car Reflections for the purchase of one fully equipped Chevrolet Tahoe K9 squad in the amount not to exceed $63,000.00                     

 

SECTION THREE.  That the various provisions of this Resolution are to be considered severable and if any part or portion of this Resolution shall be held invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Resolution.

 

                     SECTION FOUR.  All prior Resolutions and Resolutions, or parts thereof in conflict or inconsistent with this Resolution are hereby expressly repealed only to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency.

 

                     SECTION FIVE.  This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.]
