A Resolution Waiving the Formal Bidding Process and Awarding the Construction of the JJC Soccer Practice Fields Project to J. Russ and Company, Inc. in the Amount of $260,876.36 (2 Proposals Were Received).

Whereas, The Village of Romeoville ("The Village") is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and,
Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, Village Staff received proposals from two (2) qualified contractors to perform construction related services for the JJC Soccer Practice Fields; and,
Whereas, the Parks and Recreation Department is currently working with J. Russ and Company, Inc. on the Discovery Park Project and has been satisfied with their performance to-date; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for these improvements are allocated in the Fiscal Year 2017/2018 Budget; and,
Whereas, Village Staff has reviewed the proposals and recommends the Village Board award the contract to J. Russ and Company, Inc. in the Amount of $260,876.36;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to this project.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repea...
