A Resolution Approving an Agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Village of Romeoville for the West Taylor Road Proposed Sidewalk and Pavement Striping Improvements (Safe Route to Schools Grant)

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville ("The Village") is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and,
WHEREAS, The Village of Romeoville, Illinois, has determined that there is a need to improve the local agency roadways to include the replacement of existing sidewalks, installation of proposed sidewalks and pavement markings along West Taylor Road from South Budler Road to North Budler Road; and
WHEREAS, said project has been approved by the Illinois Department of Transportation to receive Safe Routes to School (SRTS) funds for 80% of Engineering Costs; and
WHEREAS, in order to obtain federal funding of local transportation improvements, the Village of Romeoville is required, under Illinois Department of Transportation policies, to enter into an agreement for the funding of said local improvements; and
WHEREAS, the attached agreement between the State of Illinois and the Village of Romeoville defines the Local Agency participation in the engineering services and the estimated local share of the cost of the engineering services, said agreement attached hereto and hereby made a part hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The attached agreement is hereby approved and that there is hereby appropriated the sum of Twenty-Nine-Thousand-Nine-Hundred-Fifty-Two Dollars ($29,952.00) from the Village General Corporate Funds, of which Three-Thousand-One-Hundred-Thirty-Two Dollars ($3,132.00) will be reimbursed to the Village by the State of Illinois; and
