An Ordinance Amending Chapter 157 (Comprehensive Plan) of the Village of Romeoville Code of Ordinances
Adopting the Updated Comprehensive Plan

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has heretofore adopted Chapter 157 (Comprehensive Plan) of the Romeoville Code of Ordinances pursuant to the Illinois Compiled Statutes to establish and set forth regulations pertaining to the use and development of land, buildings and structures in the Village; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to periodically amend the Comprehensive Plan in response to changes in technology, development practices, and community standards and to improve administration and enforcement procedure; and,
WHEREAS, after due notice, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on June 27, 2017 to consider the updated Comprehensive Plan and has transmitted its report and findings on this matter, attached as Exhibit A, to the Village Board of Trustees recommending that the proposed amendment be approved; and,
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have accepted the Planning and Zoning Commission's Report and concur with the Planning and Zoning Commission's recommendation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the above recitals and referenced reports are hereby made a part of this Ordinance.
Section 2: That the Comprehensive Plan prepared by Teska and Associates, dated May 19, 2017 and attached as Exhibit B, is herby adopted.
Section 3: That all Village departments are herby authorized to implement said plan.
Section 4: That Section 157.01 is hereby amended to read as follows: The Comprehensive Plan for the Village of Romeoville, as prepared by the Village Planning and Zoning Commission and as recommended for adoption by the Board of Trustees is hereby adopted as the "Official Plan" of the Village of Romeoville (ORD 17-1391).
