An Ordinance Amending Chapter 43 of the Village Code of Ordinances (Fee Schedule)-Fire Department Fees

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has heretofore adopted certain ordinances now codified as and for Chapter 43 of the Village Code of Ordinances and as other provisions of the Village Code of Ordinances setting forth and establishing various fees and charges for licenses, permits approvals and the like; and
WHEREAS, after Village staff review, it has been determined that certain of the fees and charges and provisions set forth therein are in need of revision, and specifically that the provisions of Sections 43.02A(A) and 43.02A(B) pertaining to certain Fire Department plan review and inspection fees are in need of revision.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, THAT:
SECTION 1: RECITALS. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2: AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 43 OF VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES. All those provisions of all heretofore adopted Village ordinances codified as Sections 43.02A (A) and 43.02A (B) of the Village Fee Schedule-Fire Department Fee Schedule shall hereby be amended by deleting and repealing the presently existing the presently existing text thereof and replacing the same with the following text, to be codified as and for Sections 43.02A (A) and 43.02A (B) of the Village Fee Schedule-Fire Department Fee Schedule
§ 43.02A FIRE DEPARTMENT FEE SCHEDULE.
(A) In House Plan review fees.
(1) Building Review- All occupancy classes other than residential
New Construction, or building addition greater than 50% of original sq. footage
- New Construction 30,000 sq. ft or less $250
- New Construction 30,001-80,000 sq. ft $325
- New Construction 80,001 sq. ft to 130,000 $400
- New Construction 130,001 sq. ft or greater $500
- Tenant build out / remodel $150/ 10,000 sq. ft
Building review - Residential
- R1 Classification - Hotels / Motels, Boarding Houses $500
- R2 Classification - Apartments, Condominiums, Dormitories
$200 /building+ $20 per unit
- R3 Classification - Adult Care, Child Care, Congregate Living $375
- R4 Classification - Residential Care / Assisted Living $425
Miscellaneous other building review $150
(2) Fire protection systems - wet / dry Sprinkler system installation/ modifications
- Up to 20 sprinklers $175
- 21-50 sprinklers $250
- 51-200 sprinklers $325
- 201-300 sprinklers $450
- 301 sprinklers or more: $500 plus $.50 per sprinkler over 301
(3) Fire protection systems - Hose Valve / Standpipe installation / modification $225
(4) Fire Alarm installation/Modifications - All occupancy classes other than residential $250
Fire Alarm installation/Modifications - residential classes R1, R2, R3, and R4 $200
Fire Alarm installation/Modifications - miscellaneous other fire alarm reviews $150
(5) Hood & duct system , spray booth, dry chemical system , clean agent system or other extinguishing systems $200
(6) LPG, Flammable/Combustible Fuel Tanks, Fuel Cell $225
(7) Other miscellaneous plan reviews $150
(8) Plan handling/consultant submittal $75
Third Party plan review may be used at the discretion of the Fire Prevention
Bureau and is subject to the consultant’s fee schedule.
(9) Revised plan review 50% of the fee charged for the review of the original plan or
submittal.
(10) Expedite fee - all types/ per plan review double listed plan review fee
Plan review fees do not include any inspections or acceptance tests. The fees for inspections, acceptance tests and other Fire Department inspectional services are set forth in division (B) below.

SECTION 3: SEVERABILITY. That the various provisions of this Ordinance are to be considered severable and if any part or portion of this Ordinance shall be held invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4: CONFLICTS. All prior Ordinances and Resolutions, or parts thereof in conflict or inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby expressly repealed only to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency, and upon such repeal the relevant substantive provisions thereof shall be deemed to be replaced with the relevant substantive provisions hereof.
SECTION 5: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
