A Resolution Waiving Bids for Firework Displays and Awarding a Contract to Melrose Pyrotechnics, Inc.
Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village of Romeoville may by a vote of 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office, waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work or improvement projects; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville Parks and Recreation Department offers three firework displays: Monday, July 3,2017; Friday, August 4, 2017; and Sunday, August 6, 2017; and

WHEREAS, the aforementioned firework displays have been provided by Melrose Pyrotechnics, Inc. since 2013 in a satisfactory manner;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, that:

Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby expressly incorporated into and made a part of this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.

Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS
5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the agreement for 2017 with Melrose Pyrotechnics, Inc. for the provision of three firework displays for Monday, July 3, 2017, for $20,000; Friday, August 4, 2017, for $15,000; and Sunday, August 6, 2017, for $15,000, for a total of $50,000 in services for 2017.

Section 3: Repealer: All other Resolutions or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.

Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragra...
