A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ITS LEGAL REPRESENTATIVE TO FILE A REQUEST TO INTERVENE ON ITS BEHALF WITH THE ILLINOIS PROPERTY TAX APPEAL BOARD AND THE WILL COUNTY BOARD OF REVIEW

WHEREAS, an owner or manager of real property located within the boundaries of the State of Illinois has the right to file an appeal challenging the assessed value of parcels of real property with the State of Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board; and
WHEREAS, an owner or manager of real property located within the boundaries of the County of Will in the State of Illinois has the right to file an appeal challenging the assessed value of parcels of real property with the Will County Board of Review; and
WHEREAS, an appeal before either Board may seek a reduction in the assessed value of parcels of the real estate; and
WHEREAS, any reduction in assessed valuation at the Property Tax Appeal Board or the Will County Board of Review would have adverse consequences to the taxing bodies within the district; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has the right to request to intervene in the appeal proceeding under 35 ILCS 200/16-55; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the rules of the Property Tax Appeal Board and the Will County Board of Review, a request to intervene must be accompanied by a copy of the resolution of the governing Board of the taxing body authorizing its legal representative to file a request to intervene on its behalf.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE. The forgoing Recitals are hereby incorporated into this resolution as if fully set forth in this Section 1.
SECTION TWO. That the Village of Romeoville authorizes the law firm Tracy, Johnson & Wilson, 2801 Black Road 2nd Floor, Joliet, Illinois 60435, to file Petitions to Intervene in those tax appeals filed with the Property Tax Appeal Board or the Will County Board of Review as directed by the Village Mana...
