APPROVING THE LOCAL AGENCY AGREEMENT AND CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR THE ROMEOVILLE METRA CONSTRUCTION PROJECT [VILLAGE SECTION NUMBER 10-00056-00-PK, STATE JOB NUMBER C-91-421-10, AND FEDERAL PROJECT NUMBER CMM-9003(600)]

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville ("The Village") is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and,
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has determined that there is a need to establish Metra service at a new station to be located at the southwest corner of 135th Street and New Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Design Approval for the project was obtained from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) on September 29, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the total construction cost (construction and construction engineering) is estimated at $4,965,000; and
WHEREAS, the project has been approved by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to receive Federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Program funds for eighty percent (80%) of the Construction plus Construction Engineering Engineer costs (Federal share of $3,972,000.00 and Local Match of $993,000.00); and
WHEREAS, in order to obligate Federal funding of local highway improvements, the Village of Romeoville is required, under IDOT policies, to enter into a Local Agency Agreement for Federal Participation for the funding of said local improvements, and
WHEREAS, the attached Local Agency Agreement for Federal Participation between the State of Illinois and the Village of Romeoville defines the Local Agency participation in the improvement and the estimated local share of the cost of the improvements; said agreement attached hereto and hereby made a part hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
