A Resolution Accepting the Lowest Proposal and Enter into a Contract with Midwest Salt for the Supply and Delivery of Water Treatment Salt

Whereas, the Village of Romeoville ("The Village") is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and
Whereas, the expenditures for the project are budgeted in account number 60.08.22.399; and
Whereas, the lowest proposal was received from Midwest Salt and the Village has verified the proposal is properly complete and accurate; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Awarding of Contract: The Village awards the contract for the supply and delivery of water treatment salt to Midwest Salt. Requests for proposals were sent to four area salt suppliers to obtain pricing for the supply and delivery of the Village's water treatment salt. This salt is utilized during the ION exchange process to soften the water and remove radium. The proposals were opened on Monday March 16, 2026 and staff are recommending accepting the lowest proposal from Midwest Salt. Midwest Salt is our current supplier of water treatment salt and has provided a quality product and customer service.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.
