A Resolution to Approve a Task Order from Strand Engineering to Provide Engineering Services for the Update of the Village's Risk and Resiliency and Cybersecurity Assessments

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for the engineering services for the update of the Village's risk and resiliency and cybersecurity assessments project will be expensed in fiscal year 25/26, account number 60.08.22.292; and,
Whereas, Strand Engineering will provide engineering services for the update of the Village's risk and resiliency and cybersecurity assessments: and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Awarding the Contract: The Village of Romeoville approves the professional service task order from Strand Engineering for the engineering services for the update of the Village's risk and resiliency and cybersecurity. In 2020, Strand Engineering worked with Village Staff to perform a thorough Risk and Resiliency Assessment of the Village's water system as required by the EPA's "America's Water Infrastructure Act". EPA requires that the RRA is updated and re-certified every 5 years. Along with the RRA, EPA requires that community water supplies regularly perform a detailed cybersecurity assessment as well to ensure water systems identify and correct any vulnerabilities that may be found. Strand Engineering has proposed their services under task order # 25-03 at a total cost of $33,000.00.
