A RESOLUTION FOR THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF FUTURE LOCAL MATCH FUNDS FOR THE 135TH COMPLETE STREET - WEBER ROAD TO IL RT. 53 - PROJECT

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville (“The Village”) is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and,
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has determined that there is a desire to convert the existing 135th Street from an outdated 4-lane cross section to a Complete Street consisting of 3-lanes and 2 outside bike paths plus landscape islands where possible; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville is seeking federal funding through the Will County Governmental League (WCGL) as part of their Local Surface Transportation Program (STP) for Federal Fiscal Year 2021 - 2025 in the amount of $2,517,200 Federal share plus $749,300 Local Match (total project of $3,266,500); and
WHEREAS, in order to secure federal STP funding of local highway improvements, the Village of Romeoville is required under WCGL policies to acknowledge that the Village of Romeoville has sufficient funds for the Local Match.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Village of Romeoville, subject to securing federal STP funds through the WCGL, hereby acknowledges their intent to allocate the sum of one hundred forty thousand one hundred and ten dollars ($749,300) in General Funds.
Section 2. The Village President is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement.
