A RESOLUTION WAIVING THE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS AND ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL FOR LANDSCAPE BED INSTALLATION FROM J. HASSERT LANDSCAPE INC.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Chapter 36.43(C) of the Village Code of Ordinances, the Village of Romeoville may by a vote of 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office, waive the otherwise applicable requirements for public bidding, whether for labor, services or work, the construction of public works or improvements, or the purchase, lease or sale of personal property, materials, equipment or supplies; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has heretofore reviewed a proposal from J. Hassert Landscape Inc. for the installation of additional landscape embankment outcropping planting beds at Romeo Crossing Community Park, and also includes the completion of new landscape beds at Discovery Park, the Murphy Wetland Parcel, and Nottingham Ridge Park; attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, The Village desires to accept the proposal for $79,206 with J. Hassert Landscape Inc. for additional landscape work; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville is an Illinois home rule municipal corporation under the 1970 Illinois Constitution; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE. The foregoing Recitals are hereby incorporated into this resolution as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION TWO. That pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Chapter 36.43(C) of the Village Code of Ordinances, the Village of Romeoville, by a two-thirds vote of its Corporate Authorities, hereby waives the public bidding procedures applicable to the provision for landscape bed installation, and further that the Village President and Village Clerk are hereby respectively authorized to accept and execute a proposal from J. Hassert Landscape Inc....
