A Resolution to Approve the Purchase of Water Meters from Core and Main as the Sole Supplier of SENSUS Water Meters

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,

 

Whereas, there is available funds in the FY26 budget for purchase of water meters from account 60.08.22.354; and,

 

Whereas, staff is recommending approving $65,000 for the purchase of additional water meters.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:

 

Section 1:                     Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.

 

Section 2:                     Waiver of Public Bid RequirementsPursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the purchase of SENSUS water meters from Core and Main. Core and Main continues to be the Sole Supplier of SENSUS water meters at this time.

 

Section 3:                     Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.

 

Section 4:                     Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.

 

Section 5:                     Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
