A Resolution to Waive the Bidding Requirements and Accept the Proposal from J5 Rescue Supply LLC

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for the purchase of Ballistic Sheilds for the Police Department will be expensed from account number 01.11.02.402; and,
Whereas, J5 Rescue Supply LLC has provided a proposal in the amount of $104,800; and,
Whereas, the Village shall compensate J5 Rescue Supply LLC for supply of Ballistic Sheilds for an estimated fee of $104,800.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable for the proposal from J5 Rescue Supply LLC for the purchase of Ballistic Shields. The proposal from J5 Rescue Supply LLC is hereby approved in an amount not to exceed $104,800, provided, further, however, that notwithstanding the preceding clause, expenditures for services within the scope may be made in amount excess of $104,800 but only upon the express approval of the Village Manager and Village Attorney.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
