A Resolution Approving a Commitment of Local Matching Funds for Roadway Projects Eligible for STP Grants

Whereas, the Village of Romeoville (“The Village”) is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and,
Whereas, the Village is proposing to submit applications for Surface Transportation Program (STP) grant monies for eligible roadway projects; and,
Whereas, a local funding match of 20% of the total project costs is required from the Village for any projects that are awarded a grant; and,
Whereas, a resolution approving the commitment to provide the funding of such matching funds in the event any projects are selected for a grant award is required from the Village; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Awarding of Contract: The Village of Romeoville commits to funding the local match required for any projects submitted for STP funding which are subsequently selected for such funding, up to an amount not to exceed $1,723,000.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.
Section 5: Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
