A Resolution to Approve the Purchase of Agora Channel Soccer Goal Sets and Nets for $58,439.59 with Sator Sports INC

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has determined that existing equipment is starting to show signs of wear; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Chapter 36.43(C) of the Village Code of Ordinances, the Village of Romeoville may by a vote of two-thirds of its Trustees then holding office, waive the otherwise applicable requirements for public bidding, whether for labor, services or work, the construction of public works or improvements, or the purchase, lease or sale of personal property, materials, equipment or supplies; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has heretofore received a quote from Sator Sports Inc. for soccer goal replacement at Discovery Park and Volunteer Park in the amount of $58,439.59 (see Exhibit A); and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has heretofore received a quote from Kwik Goal for soccer goal replacement at Discovery Park and Volunteer Park in the amount of $69,782.00 (see Exhibit B).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section 1: The foregoing recitals are hereby expressly incorporated into and made a part of this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: By a two-thirds vote of the corporate authorities of the Village, applicable competitive bidding requirements under the Illinois Municipal Code and the Village Code of Ordinances are hereby waived, and the Village President and Village Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to attest to the execution of the purchase of Agora Channel soccer goal sets for Discovery Park and Volunteer Park, pursuant to the terms of the quote attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A to this Resolution, subject to final Village Manager and Village Attorney review.
