A Resolution Amending the Contract with Steven Spiess Construction for Additional Services on the Recreation Center Lot Water and Sewer Main Replacements

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, a previous board approved resolution entered into a contract with Steven Spiess for the work on the Recreation Center Lot; and,
Whereas, unforeseen field changes were required to complete the project resulting in additional cost and funds are available in FY26 account 60.08.24.409; and,
Wheres, staff recommends approving the update to the contract amount with Steven Spiess Construction by an increase of $52,814.25.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to updating the contract amount with Steven Spiess Construction for additional services on the Recreation Center Lot, increasing the contract amount by $54,814.25.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not ...
