WHEREAS, after Village staff review, it has been determined that it is in the best interest of the Village to adopt an amendment to Chapter 113.10 of the Village Code of Ordinances to replace the fidelity bond requirement for raffles managers with an obligation of the raffles license applicant to provide prize indemnity insurance coverage.


NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS; THAT:

SECTION 1: RECITALS. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.

SECTION 2: AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 113.07. All those heretofore adopted ordinances of the Village codified as and for Chapter 113.07 are hereby amended to read as set forth below:
The fee for a license to conduct a raffle(s) or poker run(s) shall be $25 for a Class A or Class B license, and shall be $50 for a Class C license. No application for a license will be approved prior to receipt of the license fee. Applicants may request waivers of the license fee requirement from the Village President, who may grant or deny the same upon review of the information provided by the applicant.
SECTION 3: AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 113.10. All those heretofore adopted ordinances of the Village codified as and for Chapter 113.10 are hereby amended to read as set forth below:
113.10 MANAGER SUPERVISION; PRIZE INDEMNITY INSURANCE

All operations of and the conduct of raffles shall be under the supervision of a single raffles manager designated by the organization in its application. The manager of the organization shall be responsible for obtaining a policy of prize indemnity insurance from an insurer licensed to do business in the State of Illinois, with an amount of coverage not less than double the aggregate value of all prizes proposed to be awarded in the raffle to be conducted.
