An Ordinance Amending Chapter 37 of the Village Code of Ordinances- Personnel Manual

WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the Corporate Authorities to periodically review the compensation and benefits paid to elected officials within the Village of Romeoville to ensure that the same are commensurate with the duties and responsibilities undertaken by such officials; and

WHEREAS, the most recent such review indicates that certain revisions to Chapter 37 of the Village Code of Ordinances are necessary in order to fairly adjust the compensation and benefits paid to elected officials within the Village of Romeoville; and


NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS; THAT:

SECTION 1: RECITALS. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Ordinance as if fully set forth herein.

SECTION 2: AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 37 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF ORDINANCES. Those provisions of all heretofore adopted Village Ordinances codified as and for Chapter 37.87 of the Village Code of Ordinances are hereby amended to read as hereinafter set forth:

C. Temporary employee/seasonal/instructors/security systems monitor - A person employed either Full-time or part-time on a non-regular basis will be eligible for paid time off per the Paid Leave Act for All Workers
5.6 Sick Leave
A. Purpose
Add to the section: The Village may request prior to payment for sick leave, evidence in the form of written certification of use of sick leave, if reasonable grounds exist to suspect abuse or if the absence has exceeded three consecutive work days.
5.7 Unused Sick Leave at Retirement and Health Insurance.
Option 2: Change to the following
The retiree can choose an outside vendor and the Village will pay vendor directly and deduct the monthly premium from the value of the retiree's sick bank. The maximum the Village will pay ...
