A Resolution Approving the Purchase of Water Meters from Core and Main (Sole Supplier)

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, there is currently budgeted funds for the purchase of water meters from account 60.08.22.354
Whereas, staff is recommending approving the purchase of $600,000 for the purchase of additional water meters
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the purchase of SENSUS water meters from Core and Main. Village staff have installed over 7000 SENSUS water meters since the replacement program began in 2023. These meters have proven to be an excellent resource when addressing water consumption concerns by helping our residents and business owners more clearly understand their water usage patterns and identify leaks sooner. Core and Main continues to be the Sole Supplier of SENSUS water meters at this time.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same sha...
