A Resolution Awarding the Contract for the Jungle Safari Indoor Playground Project to Petra Builders Inc.

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has determined that it is in its best interests to renovate the Jungle Safari Indoor Playground at the Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Road; and
WHEREAS, the project includes selective demolition, a new exterior door, new casework, new flooring, indoor playground equipment, poured-in-place flooring, concrete paving, and site restoration; and
WHEREAS, the Village solicited competitive bids for the project, and bids were opened on September 29, 2026, with Petra Builders Inc. submitting the lowest base bid in the amount of $276,528.00; and
WHEREAS, Wight & Company reviewed the bids and references and determined that Petra Builders Inc. met the bidding and experience requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Village desires to award the contract to Petra Builders Inc. in the amount of $276,528.00 and authorize execution of the construction agreement, all in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE. The foregoing Recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth in this Section 1.
SECTION TWO. The contract for the Jungle Safari Indoor Playground project is hereby awarded to Petra Builders Inc. in the amount of $276,528.00. The proper officers of the Village are authorized and directed to execute and attest to the execution of the construction agreement with Petra Builders Inc., all in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, subject to final Village Manager and Village Attorney review.
SECTION THREE. The various provisions of this Resolution are to be considered severable, and if any part or portion of this Resolution shall be held invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Resolution.
