A Resolution to Waive the Bid Process, Accept the Lowest Proposal, and Enter into Contract with Orange Crush LLC for the Village Hall Parking Lot Resurfacing Project

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for various street rehabilitation projects, including for hot-mix asphalt delivery, concrete repair, subdivision street resurfacing, and Village Hall main parking lot resurfacing, are allocated in the Fiscal Year 2023/2024 Budget; and,
Whereas, the lowest proposal for the Village Hall Parking Lot Resurfacing Project was submitted by Orange Crush LLC in the amount of $210,612.70. The ultimate contract value will reflect the actual quantities of work performed in the field, up to the proposal amount plus geotechnical services, construction engineering and contingency, equal to $242,204.61.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the contract for the Village Hall Parking Lot Resurfacing Project.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
