A Resolution to Approve an Addition to the Concrete Repair Program for Path Removal and Concrete Sidewalk Installation on Taylor Rd from Troxel Ave to Belmont Dr

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the expenditures for removal and replacement of the path on Taylor Rd from Troxel Ave to Belmont Dr are approved in the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 Budget; and,
Whereas, the contractor for the Concrete Repair Program, Builders Concrete Services LLC, has provided a proposal for the removal of the asphalt path and installation of a 6' concrete sidewalk on Taylor from Troxel Ave to Belmont Dr, holding the unit price of $18/sf per the contract and not to exceed the budgeted amount of $350,000
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the Taylor Rd path removal and concrete sidewalk installation.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceabili...
