An Ordinance Amending Chapter 150.13 of the Village of Romeoville Code of Ordinances (Adoption of Appendix G: Flood-Resistant Construction)

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has heretofore adopted Chapter 150 (Building Ordinance) of the Romeoville Code of Ordinances pursuant to the Illinois Compiled Statutes to establish and set forth certain regulations pertaining to the use, development and construction of land, buildings and structures in the Village; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to periodically amend and add the above-referenced Chapters in response to changes in technology, development practices, statutory amendments, applicable professional standards and community standards and to improve administration and enforcement procedure; and,
WHEREAS, the Village's Building Department staff has reviewed the provisions of the 2021 International Building Code, Appendix G and has recommended the President and Village Board amend Chapter 150.13 of the Romeoville Code of Ordinances by adopting and adding Appendix G of the 2021 International Building Code to this Section with any necessary local technical amendments thereto all as set forth in Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached hereto and made part hereof by this reference;
WHEREAS, not less than three copies of the proposed amendment to Chapter 150.13 have been on file with the Village Clerk's office for a period of not less than thirty (30) days prior to the adoption of this Ordinance, and the same have been and are available for public use, inspection and examination.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the above recitals and referenced reports are hereby made a part of this Ordinance.
Section 2: That the preamble portion of Chapter 150.13 of the Romeoville Code of Ordinances prior to Section (A) thereof be, and hereby is amended to read as follows:
