A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirements and Accepting the Proposal from Ragan Communications for the Purchase of Radio Upgrades

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville requests to purchase upgrades to the portable and mobile radios used by REMA for communications; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville (“Village”) has heretofore received a quote for the purchase of these radio upgrades from Ragan Communications for $21,454.30;
WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has reviewed the quote and would like to accept the quote from Ragan Communications, who is able to supply the upgrades for our needs; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the applicable provisions of the Illinois Municipal Code and the Village of Romeoville Code of Ordinances, the Corporate Authorities, by a two-thirds vote, may, at their discretion, waive the otherwise applicable public bidding procedures applicable to the procurement of goods and services by the Village.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, that:
Section 1: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Chapter 36.43(C) of the Village Code of Ordinances, the Corporate Authorities of the Village hereby waive the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the provision of the purchase of radio upgrades, and authorize the Village of Romeoville to accept the quote from Ragan Communications, for the purchase of Johnson radio upgrades for the amount of $21,454.30.
Section 2: This Resolution is approved and the Mayor and Clerk are authorized to execute any necessary documents in connection therewith.
