A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirements and Accepting the Proposal from Metropolitan Industries for Three Variable Frequency Drives

Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of the Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village of Romeoville may vote by 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office to waive the requirements for public bidding on Village public work, or improvement projects; and,
Whereas, the Villages south wastewater treatment facility has four high capacity 12” raw sewage pumps that begin the wastewater treatment process; and,
Whereas, currently, three of the four pumps are operating on variable frequency drives that are no longer supported and need to be replaced; and,
Whereas, Metropolitan Industries has provided a proposal in the amount of $53,386.00; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: Waiver of Public Bid Requirements: Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable for the three variable frequency drives. Metropolitan Industries has provided a proposal for three new drives with installation at a cost of $53,386.00. The Village will save on the drive costs and installation fees by replacing all three at the same time.
Section 3: Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4: Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the ...
