A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirement and Authorizing the Purchase of a Pierce Velocity HDR Walk-in Heavy Rescue Squad from MacQueen Equipment LLC

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provision of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and the provisions of Village Ordinance No. 2793-00 the Village of Romeoville may by a vote of 2/3 of its Trustees then holding office, waive the requirements for public bidding on Village fire department equipment; and
WHEREAS, in the Fire Department 2024-2025 fiscal budget $1,700,000.00 has been allocated to purchase a replacement heavy rescue squad. Staff received a quote from MacQueen in the amount of $1,540,000.00 for the vehicle which is $160,000.00 below the budgeted amount;
WHEREAS, the proposed engine will replace the 2006 Pierce Enforcer Heavy Rescue Squad.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS that:
Section 1: The Village of Romeoville waives the bid process and approves the purchase of (1) Pierce Velocity HDR Walk-in Heavy Rescue Squad in the amount of $1,540,000.00 from MacQueen Equipment LLC of St. Paul, MN.
Section 2: The Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
