A Resolution Waiving the Bidding Requirements and Approving a Charter Bus Agreement with First Student, Inc. for RomeoFest Shuttle Services

WHEREAS, the Village of Romeoville has determined that it is in its best interests to enter into a Charter Bus Agreement with First Student, Inc., for shuttle services for the 2027, 2028, and 2029 RomeoFest events, all in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, First Student, Inc. is the only service provider that offers a dispatcher to coordinate shuttle operations and has previously provided quality service to the Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village desires to waive the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to this agreement based on the dispatcher services offered by First Student, Inc. and its satisfactory past performance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE. Incorporation of Recitals. The foregoing Recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth in this Section 1.
SECTION TWO. Waiver of Public Bid Requirements. Pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/8-9-1 and Village Ordinance No. 2793-00, the Village hereby waives the public bidding requirements otherwise applicable to the Charter Bus Agreement with First Student, Inc. for shuttle services for the 2027, 2028, and 2029 RomeoFest events.
SECTION THREE. Authorization to Execute Agreement. The proper officers of the Village are authorized and directed to execute and attest to the execution of the Charter Bus Agreement with First Student, Inc., all in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, subject to final Village Manager and Village Attorney review.
SECTION FOUR. Severability. The various provisions of this Resolution are to be considered severable, and if any part or portion of this Resolution shall be held invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remainin...
