The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency requires individual municipalities, including the Village of Romeoville, to obtain and maintain permits authorizing the discharge of storm water from the municipal storm sewer systems to the receiving waters. The permit requirements mandates that one public meeting must be held annually for the public to provide input as to the adequacy of the permittee's NPDES program.
