A Resolution Accepting the Lowest Proposal and Entering into a Contract with Len Cox and Sons Excavating for the Downtown Watermain Improvements Project

Whereas, the Village of Romeoville (“The Village”) is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and

 

Whereas, a bid letting for the Downtown Watermain project was held on May 27, 2026; and

 

Whereas, the expenditures for the project are budgeted in account number 60.08.22.409; and

 

Whereas, the low responsive and responsible bidder was identified as Len Cox and Sons Excavating with a low bid of $2,534,406.60, and the Village has verified the bid is properly complete and accurate; and,

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:

 

Section 1:                     Incorporation of Recitals: The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into this Resolution as if fully set forth herein.

 

Section 2:                     Awarding of Contract: The Village awards the contract for the Downtown Water Main project to Len Cox and Sons Excavating in the amount of $2,534,406.60. Len Cons and Sons Excavating is awarded the bid for the work not to exceed $2,534,406.60, conditioned upon its execution of the Village’s customary form of contract for the work.

Section 3:                     Repealer: All other Ordinances or parts of ordinances of the Village of Romeoville that are inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby expressly repealed.

Section 4:                     Severability: In the event any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision, or section of this Resolution or any portion thereof shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the same shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, or sections thereof.

 

Section 5:                     Effective Date: The resolution shall take effect after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
